In the background tonight, is this collection of clips of and about Robert Anton Wilson. I was discussing Wilson the other day (and two (six) of the books that changed my life: The Illuminatus! Trilogy and the Cosmic Trigger Trilogy) and remembered the two times I almost went to see him speak but never did. YouTube cures wad ails ya.

haha. i just barely missed seeing him speak at the prophet's conference at st. john the divine because i underestimated the time it would take to drive from yonkers to manhattan. instead i used my tickets to see robert metzner and ram dass. i saw RAW out in the street, smoking a cigarette. his polio was beginning to act up again and he was in his wheelchair and had an aide pushing him thru the streets.
i miss him, but meeting your heroes is never what its cracked up to be, ya know?
unless justin is your hero.

I've managed to avoid meeting most of my heroes. Even when trapped in an elevator with them.
If you haven't bit yet, Marcos, be forewarned! At least half the clips are from the last years of his life when he was visibly in a lot of pain.
