NOTHIN' DOIN'

Dinner with the boss and some coworkers went well. Had a good time. Didn't eat enough, drank too much. Was more or less useless by the time I got home, so I drank some more and watched Veronica Mars dvd.

It really is the most frustrating show ever. There's a lot I like about it and then there's stuff that just makes no sense or is just so contrived that it borders on the unreasonable. But the characters, the dialogue and the social politics are all topnotch. Also, it inspired me to grab "Crimson & Clover" off the iTunes. Thar be a great song.

I hope to watch Broken Flowers tonight. Then finish EMAW #6 on schedule this weekend.

Finished "The Deep End." It was okay. The last men on earth after everyone else evacuates the dried-up planet find a fish.

i think the contrivance comes from haveing to make a mystery every week next to the arc. so ill forgive them. for a good mystery be hard enough, that many and there are bound to be illogics and obviousnessess. Adequadaciosness! Amanda seyfried is lily kane

I'll give them the pass for sure.

On the tv forum, they insist that VM is the best show on broadcast tv—better than Lost. Which is just ridiculous. And prefer comparisons to The WIRE of all things.

They turned me onto many good things, so I had the expectations.

I still enjoy it, even if the weekly mysteries are pretty lame.

you gotta admit lost can be frustrating.
and too many times lost gets into the worst sin.
flat out boring.

Sometimes it can be boring (Kate cough cough), but I think it's generally better written and better acted. This season has even been better than last, overall.

And it's frustration is different. More like "OH! What's gonna happen?" and less, "It's the guy who told you! He's the one who did it! Figure it out! Move on!"

But, I might be the only person who thinks Lost is the best show on tv that isn't The Wire.

i applaud lost for attempting a different approach to the arc.

Veronica mars does it more traditonally, but makes it pretty tightly wound. and it gets better.

lost seems more like: here we go lets see what happens.

they admittedly added alot of characters because of the "oh that would be cool mentality"
but when you have that many characters some will shine over others.

I like lost when its high. when its low its boring.
i thoroughly enjoyed the beginning of the seaon becasue Michael, jin, and sawyer developed into being three of the most interesting characters.
they acted great together and i enjoyed the focus on them.
kate, charlie, and jack bore me. and when they get the focus? then i get irritated at there assorted "daddy" issues. whatever
nothing touches the FIRST season of the wire for me.havent seen it recently
veronica mars, lost, the shield, and battlestar are probably the best shows on tv, 2 on at the same time! and now that my house love is waning, we'll see how the unit holds up.
