So, I have these inks, see? These colored inks, ya hear? I've been wanting to play with them for a while, you follow?

Anyway, had a stab at last night's quick sketch:

In the last post, I mentioned trying to put more thought into the costuming for some of my characters. Here's an outfit I worked on over the weekend. Ballpoint pen in my sketchbook. I was working on necklines before realizing I'd need some below-the-waist action, that's why the girl looks like a stage magician's assistant.

SOME TIPS AND TWEAKS

Ok, found some tips and changed my photoshop settings. Then I found a happy medium between what I had done and what I thought I had done, arriving at:

I haven't fooled around with color in about a year, so it was interesting to play again. I want this to work equally well in color and black and white, so it made sense to do a test.



Not the final colors (I actually stole most of the palette from a webcomic that is always visually impressive), but I do think it was a nice first stab.
